Division 1. GENERALLY |
§ 2-157. Division of health services.
(a)
The director of health services shall have charge and general supervision of the division of health services.
(b)
The division of health services shall be responsible for all activities of the Memphis and Shelby County Health Department, which includes, but is not limited to, the functions of the division's administration, environmental health services, personal health services, vector control, and forensic center.

Notes:
1. Boards assigned to the division of health services include the following: air pollution control board.
2. Division of health and public service changed to division of community services and new division of health services was created pursuant to ch. 277, Priv. Acts 1982 (ratified by Res. No. 22, 5-10-1982).
3. Division of health services retained as part of charter form of county government pursuant to Res. No. 11, 9-8-1986.
4. Countywide vector control program enhanced to prevent or reduce the transmission of vector borne disease; vector control fee of $0.75 per utility ratepayer per month on MLGW bill imposed to fund program pursuant to Resolution No. 15, 8-8-2005 (T.C.A. § 68-2-610).
