Article XV. TIRE DISPOSAL AND TIRE BUSINESS REGISTRATION |
§ 8-664. Violations and penalties.
Any tire business violating or failing to comply with any provision of this article shall be subject to a civil penalty of $50.00 for each offense as determined by a division of the general sessions court. Each day of continued violation shall constitute a separate offense.
(1)
The improper storage of one or more used tires shall constitute a separate offense per tire and be punishable by a fine of $50.00 for each improperly stored tire on the location of the tire business.
(2)
The improper transporting or dumping of a tire shall constitute a separate offense per tire and be punishable by a fine of $50.00 for each tire found improperly dumped.
(3)
If the improper dumping or transporting was done from an identified motor vehicle, a traffic citation shall be issued against such vehicle for $50.00 in violation of this chapter. Furthermore, such traffic citation for improper transporting or dumping of tires, if unpaid, shall also constitute grounds for impoundment of such vehicles as provided in part ii, article v, section 24-199 and such vehicle shall not be released from impoundment until clear evidence of payment of all fines and costs of the outstanding citation are provided to the sheriff by the vehicle owner and all towing and storage fees are paid.
