§ 8-332. Contents confidential.

  • Application contents shall be confidential. The information contained in an alarm user permit application required by this article and other information received by the alarm administrator through correspondence or communications with an alarm user shall be securely maintained and restricted to inspection only by the alarm administrator or certain law enforcement officers or employees specifically assigned the responsibility for handling and processing alarm user permits in the course of official duties. If the alarm administrator, police director or any employee of the city or county is found to have knowingly or willfully revealed the information contained in an alarm user permit application or in any correspondence or communications with an alarm user to any other person other than the alarm user or the alarm user's licensed alarm business for any purpose other than an official law enforcement matter without the express written consent of the alarm user and the alarm business, that person shall be guilty of a violation of this article. Each such violation shall be punishable by a fine of up to $50.00. Upon conviction, the violator shall be subject to disciplinary action up to, and including, termination of employment.
