§ 4-172. Damage to property; lien.

  • The owner, or the agent or employee of the owner of the livestock running at large in violation of this article shall be liable in damages for the value of any property destroyed or damaged by such livestock. The person whose property is damaged shall have, and is hereby expressly given, a lien on the animal doing the damage and may enforce such lien by attachment or by judgment and execution against the owner, his agent or employee, before a judge of the court of general sessions in the same manner and to the same extent as other liens are enforced.
