§ 2-311. Disposition of unclaimed property.

  • The sheriff of the county is hereby authorized to dispose of all abandoned, stolen, and/or recovered or worthless property which remains unclaimed in the sheriff's custody and possession by virtue of confiscation, abandonment or having been stolen and recovered. Such disposition shall not be made until a period of six months has elapsed from the date of acquisition of such property by the sheriff.
