§ 2-253. Prosecution of ordinance violations.

  • The county attorney, or his designee, shall be charged with the responsibility of prosecuting all ordinance violations filed on behalf of the county by the chief law enforcement officer of the county or other appropriate persons as may be designated by a particular ordinance. The county attorney may assign one or more assistant county attorneys to the prosecution of ordinance violation matters. All ordinance violations shall be prosecuted in the general sessions court of the county.
