§ 2-189. Department of personnel.

  • There is established a department of personnel with the administrator of personnel appointed by the county mayor. He shall serve at the pleasure of the county mayor. The administrator of personnel shall have staff responsibility to the county mayor for administering the civil service merit system for employees of the county as set forth in article II of chapter 14. He shall keep and maintain an accurate and up-to-date record of all employees of all departments and offices of the county government. It shall be his duty to seek out, interview and recommend to the several departments and offices, the persons to fill the personnel requirements of such departments and offices. The administrator of personnel shall perform such other duties as may be assigned to him by the county mayor.
