Division 1. GENERALLY |
§ 2-155. Division of community services.
(a)
The director of community services shall have charge and general supervision of the division of community services.
(b)
The division of community services shall be responsible for all community services activities of the county government, which includes, but is not limited to, the functions of the aging commission of the midsouth, community services agency, crime victims center, head start, pretrial services, sexual assault resource center, and grants coordinator. The director shall be responsible for the general supervision, operation and management, directly and through boards and commissions of such community service institutions as shall be assigned to the division of community services. All institutions operated by the government of the county immediately prior to the effective date of the Act from which this section is derived, and which are not herein abolished or otherwise provided for, are assigned to the division of community services.

5. Public defender, pretrial services, treatment and research center, divorce referee and community action agency added by Resolution No. 26, January 31, 1977.
6. Airport, conservation, correction center, coliseum, traffic safety coordination and auditorium removed by Resolution No. 26, January 31, 1977.
7. Hospital authority removed from Restructure Act by ch. 306, Priv. Acts 1978.
8. Division of health and public service changed to division of community services and new division of health services created pursuant to ch. 277, Priv. Acts 1982 (ratified by Res. No. 22, 5-10-1982).
9. Division of community services retained as part of charter form of county government pursuant to Res. No. 11, 9-8-1986.
