§ 26-185. Acquisition of property.

  • Whenever, in the judgment of the county mayor it may be necessary or expedient for the carrying out and full exercise of the powers hereby granted, the county mayor shall have full power and authority to acquire by purchase or condemnation all of the necessary lands or rights or easements, and may proceed to condemn in the name of or for the benefit of the county, in the manner provided by the general laws of the state governing the taking of land or the acquiring of any interest therein for the uses for which private property may be taken, and such proceedings may be governed in every respect according to the rules and practices of actions of eminent domain, and by the general laws of the state pertaining thereto.
