§ 24-184. Stopping, standing and parking prohibited in specified places.
(a)
No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle, except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the direction of an officer, deputy, or traffic control device, in any of the following places:
(1)
On a sidewalk or between the curb and an adjacent sidewalk.
(2)
More than 12 inches from the curb.
(3)
In front of a public or private driveway.
(4)
Within an intersection.
(5)
Within 15 feet of a fire hydrant.
(6)
On a crosswalk.
(7)
Within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection, unless otherwise designated by markers or parking meters.
(8)
Within 30 feet upon the approach to any flashing beacon, stop sign, or traffic control signal located at the side of a roadway.
(9)
Within 50 feet of the nearest rail of a railroad crossing.
(10)
Within 20 feet of the driveway entrance to any fire station and, on the side of a street opposite the entrance to any fire station, within 75 feet of such entrance, when properly sign posted.
(11)
Alongside or opposite any street excavation or obstruction when stopping, standing or parking would obstruct traffic.
(12)
On the roadway side of any vehicle stopped or parked at the edge or curb of a street or highway.
(13)
Upon any bridge or other elevated structure upon a street or highway or within a street or highway tunnel.
(14)
Any place where official signs prohibit parking.
(15)
So as to obstruct access to any United States mailbox.
(16)
On any part of the interstate highway system; except that vehicles may be left on the portion of the interstate not intended for travel for a period of four hours if a note is attached thereto or the hood of such vehicle is left raised indicating that an emergency situation necessitated the vehicle being left in this location.
(17)
In any part of any designated fire lane.
(b)
No person shall move a vehicle not owned by such person into any such prohibited area or away from a curb such distance as is unlawful.
