§ 1-6. Certain ordinances and actions not affected by Code.

  • Nothing in this Code or the ordinance adopting this Code shall be construed to repeal or otherwise affect the validity of any of the following:

    (1)

    Any offense or act committed or done or any penalty or forfeiture incurred or any contract or right established or accruing before the effective date of the ordinance adopting this Code.

    (2)

    Any ordinance or resolution promising or guaranteeing the payment of money for the county, or authorizing the issuance of any bonds of the county or any evidence of the county's indebtedness, or any contract or obligations assumed by the county.

    (3)

    Any ordinance or resolution consistent with this Code fixing salaries or compensation of officers or employees of the county, or establishing the personnel policies and procedures.

    (4)

    Any appropriation ordinance or resolution.

    (5)

    Any right or franchise granted by the board of county commissioners to any person.

    (6)

    Any ordinance or resolution dedicating, naming, establishing, locating, relocating, opening, closing, paving, widening, vacating, or otherwise altering any street or public way in the county.

    (7)

    Any ordinance or resolution establishing and prescribing the street grades of any streets in the county.

    (8)

    Any ordinance or resolution providing for local improvements or assessing taxes therefor.

    (9)

    Any ordinance establishing fees, rates and charges, not inconsistent with this Code.

    (10)

    Any zoning ordinance of the county or amendments thereto.

    (11)

    Any ordinance consistent with this Code authorizing formation of joint agencies with other governments.

    (12)

    Ordinances or resolutions consistent with this Code prescribing traffic regulations for specific locations, prescribing through streets, parking limitations, parking prohibitions, one-way traffic, limitations on loads of vehicles or loading zones, speed limits and other specific traffic regulations, not inconsistent with this Code.

    (13)

    Any ordinance consistent with this Code levying taxes.

    (14)

    Any subdivision ordinance or amendments thereto.

    (15)

    The county air codes.

    (16)

    Any ordinance amending the building, plumbing, electrical, gas or mechanical code.

    All such ordinances are hereby recognized as continuing in full force and effect to the same extent as if set out at length in this section.
