Article IV. HOSPITALIZATION PLAN |
§ 14-112. Authorized; scope; determination of contents.
The board of county commissioners is hereby authorized to establish, by resolution, a hospitalization plan for all officials and persons regularly employed by the county and members of their families; to determine who shall be eligible to participate under such plan; to incur the expense of experts to determine the feasibility of such plan, its probable cost and administrative matters pertaining thereto; to contract with any insurance company, or other corporation which may exist under T.C.A. title 56, ch. 27, 28 or 29, properly licensed and qualified to do business in the state in connection therewith, or any hospital, properly operating in the county, including any hospital operated wholly or in part by any county or municipality; to determine to what extent, if any, the cost of such hospitalization shall be borne by employees, by the county, or both, and fix rates based on the beneficiaries of such plan; to determine how the share of the employee, if any, shall be collected; to appropriate and pay for the share, if any, of the county; to provide for the administration of the plan and the cost in connection therewith and to do all things necessary to establish and comply with the purposes of this article.
