§ 10-449. Compensation and use of time of judges.

  • (a)

    The compensation of each of the judges of the court of general sessions shall be $23,500.00 per annum, payable in equal monthly installments. It shall be paid out of the ordinary funds of the county and shall not be increased or diminished during the term for which the judges are elected. The judges shall devote their entire time to the duties of their office.

    (b)

    Beginning September 1, 1974, the compensation of the general sessions judges shall be the base salaries fixed in this division adjusted to reflect the percentage of change in the per capita personal income of the state, as defined and published by the United States Department of Commerce, between that of the calendar year 1970 and the calendar year next preceding September 1 of the year for which the salaries are to be paid. The adjustments shall occur on September 1, 1974, and on September 1 every year thereafter for the ensuing year commencing September 1. The base salaries per year shall be as set out in subsection (a) of this section.

    (c)

    This section shall not apply to the extent that any provision of law is in conflict herewith.
