§ 10-386. Chief probation officer.

  • The county legislative body shall appoint a chief probation officer. The chief probation officer shall serve at the will and pleasure of the county legislative body, and the salary of the chief probation officer shall be paid by the county and fixed by the board of county commissioners.

    Notes:

    1. When § 14, of ch. 219, Priv. Acts 1969 was converted to an ordinance, the first sentence referred to "judge" as appointing authority. This was corrected by publisher in Supplement No. 33 to the 1992 Code (Code 1992, § 9-229; Ord. No. 357, 3-31-2008).

    2. Salary was previously regulated by ch. 201, Priv. Acts 1923.
